Good evening on this MOST blustry day. This is why they call it the windy city...however, I am about 30 miles west of the windy city, but the wind follows me anyway...

My little gezebo, or canapy over my patio has been swaying in the wind for weeks now but it is still hanging on by it's toeails. At some point I would like to have a Pergola built over my patio but in the meantime I'm hoping my little gezebo holds up for another season...I have an Eastern exposure on the back of my home and it gets the hot sun most of the day...it is so nice to sit outside and read or just enjoy the birds when the weather is warm without burning to a crisp....

But, on a good note, it sure is nice to see how green everything has gotten in the last couple of weeks.....I even broke down and, yes, bought and planted a couple of flowers before Mothers Day! I am posting really close up shots of them so you can't see how skimpy they look right now...LOL...hopefully they will all flourish and grow into a beautiful garden....

HOSTAS.......we have hostas!!!! I love my elephant ears on the bottom....they get so huge....and my verigated with the ferns growing alongside are so pretty.....

I'm not sure whast this is but it comes up every year and just gets bigger and bigger!

My Lily of the Valley....I didn't know this was an evasive plant but it sure has spread after I removed a bush that didn't cooperate anymore....

This is one of my pansies I planted.....I hope to post some photos of all of them after it warms up and they spread out and get just beautiful!

This is a Viola....I haven't planted it yet, it is still in a pot on my deck but it is so pretty...

These are growing alongside my house....always in the shade. I was so surprised to see them when I went out there today...They are just so prettyI just had to cut them, some Lily of the Valley, and Bridal Veil to put in my tiny bottles next to the front door.....however, note to self....might not want to cut ferns and bring them inside next year....boy! Do they smell!! hahaha

I have a little creek that runs in the back of my property....it looks deeper than it really is....but as you can see from the photo below, it is really "low tide"...these roots are usually not visible....
